SpeechLive in virtual environments

  • To use the buttons of your Philips dictation hardware (e.g. SpeechMike, SpeechOne, Foot control) in remote / VDI environments you need to install the Philips Device Connector (PDC) with all its components.

  • Google Chrome Browser is required to use Philips Device Connector.

  • Make sure to use your devices (SpeechMike, SpeechOne) in Event Mode. This is the default out-of-the-box button mode, however if you changed the button mode of your device you can find more information in the Switch to Event mode section on how to switch it back.

X The installation and troubleshooting of Philips Device Connector in virtual environments is covered in the Philips Device Connector section of the Philips Speech Extensions guide.

[Note]Note

If the installation of Philips Device Connector is not an option for you, it is also possible to map keyboard keys to the buttons of your SpeechMike. This also works in remote / virtual environments. The Assign hotkeys to SpeechMike section covers this process in more detail.
