Accessibility statement

Status of the declaration: 23.06.2025

Speech Processing Solutions GmbH strives to make its website and mobile applications accessible in accordance with the Federal Act on Barrier-Free Access to Websites and Mobile Applications of the Federal Government (Web Accessibility Act – WZG), Federal Law Gazette I No. 59/2019 as amended.

Status of compliance with the requirements

This website is partially compliant with the conformity level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.2” and with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03), pursuant to Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and the Council, due to the following incompatibilities.

Non-accessible content

The following content is not accessible for the following reasons:

Incompatibility with accessibility requirements

Success criterion 1.2.5 – Audio description (prerecorded) (Level AA):

  • Embedded videos on the website currently do not include audio descriptions or equivalent alternative representations.

Success criterion 1.3.1 – Info and relationships (Level A)

  • The visual structure of content (e.g., heading hierarchies, lists, or tables) is not always correctly represented in the code, making relationships unrecognizable to assistive technologies.

Success criterion 1.4.1 – Use of color (Level A)

  • Some links are distinguishable from surrounding text only by color and are not additionally indicated (e.g., via underlining), making them difficult to recognize for color-blind users.

Success criterion 1.4.11 – Non-text contrast (Level AA)

  • Call-to-action elements (e.g., buttons) do not meet the required contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1, making them difficult to perceive for users with visual impairments.

Success criterion 4.1.2 – Name, role, value (Level A)

  • The controls of the embedded video player have unclear or generic aria-labels, making their functions hard to identify for assistive technologies.

Disproportionate burden

For the shortcomings already detailed under section a) "Incompatibility with accessibility requirements", Speech Processing Solutions GmbH currently invokes a disproportionate burden as defined in Article 5 of Directive (EU) 2016/2102:

Concerning success criterion 1.2.5 – Audio description (prerecorded) (Level AA):

  • Creating audio descriptions or equivalent alternative representations for all embedded videos.

Concerning success criterion 4.1.2 – Name, role, value (Level A) and implicitly other structure-related criteria like 1.3.1:

  • Complete correction of all semantic markup on individual HTML pages (e.g., incomplete or incorrect structuring of headings, tables, lists, or form elements).
  • Retrofitting all missing or insufficient aria-* attributes for uniquely machine-readable labeling of certain interactive elements.

Justification of the disproportionate burden:

Fully and immediately revising all the content, documents, and structural issues listed above in an accessible manner would currently impose a disproportionate organizational and financial burden on Speech Processing Solutions GmbH, due to the volume of content and complexity of required changes. Some content originates from external sources or systems beyond the control of the company. Making these accessible is either technically infeasible or would represent an unreasonable burden.

Ongoing improvement

Speech Processing Solutions GmbH is committed to making all newly published content accessible and to gradually remedying the listed barriers within the limits of available human and financial resources. Remediation efforts will be prioritized based on frequency of use and criticality of the affected content.

Content outside the scope of applicable legislation

Third-party content not under the control of Speech Processing Solutions GmbH is excluded from the scope of the Web Accessibility Act (WZG).

This includes in particular embedded content or documents provided by external entities, where Speech Processing Solutions GmbH has no influence over their design or accessibility. This applies to both non-accessible content from third parties and non-accessible file formats that fall outside the editorial responsibility of the company.

Preparation of this declaration

This declaration was created on 23.06.2025 based on a self-assessment. The accessibility evaluation was conducted using selected pages and components, focusing on central navigation and content areas.

Feedback and contact

If you notice any accessibility issues not mentioned in this statement, or if you require information about inaccessible content, please contact us.

Enforcement procedure

If you receive an unsatisfactory response from the contact option provided above, you can file a complaint with the complaints office of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). Complaints can be submitted electronically via the contact form of the complaints office.

The FFG examines whether the complaint concerns violations of the Web Accessibility Act, particularly regarding failure to comply with accessibility requirements by the federal government or related entities.

If the complaint is justified, the FFG will issue recommendations to the federal government or the affected entities and suggest measures to remedy the identified deficiencies.
