The Mobile App offers different recording modes that make it easier to modify your dictations. On the bottom of the screen you can tap on the different icons to switch between the recording modes:
Using Append you continue recording at the end of your current dictation. This is also independent of the current position of the cursor in the waveform.
Move the cursor in the waveform to the position where you want to insert new information.
Tap on the Record button to continue recording at this position.
X Everything you record will be added after the selected position in the recording. This function is useful if you want to add additional information at a specific position in your recording.
Move the cursor in the waveform and select the position from which everything following in the dictation should be deleted.
Caution Everything you recorded after the cursor position will be deleted!
Tap on the Record button to continue recording at this position.
X Everything you have recorded after the cursor position will be overwritten or deleted. This function is useful if you want to delete parts at the end of a dictation, especially in very long dictations.
With the trim function you can delete specific parts of your dictation.
Tap on the icon to access the trim feature.
You can now either:
Delete inside the highlighted area
Move the two yellow cursors in the waveform to the part of your dictation that you want to delete. Tap on Delete inside the highlighted area to delete only the part of the dictation you just highlighted. This function is useful when you want to delete a specific part inside of your dictation.
Crop outside the highlighted area
Move the two yellow cursors in the waveform to the part of your dictation that you want to keep. Tap on Crop outside the highlighted area to delete everything outside of the area you just highlighted in your dictation. This function is useful if you want to only keep a specific part of your dictation because you maybe started recording to early and want to remove only the beginning of a dictation, or longer quite parts at the end of your dictation.
