Settings

Click on the settings button menu-button.png to change the settings of the SpeechLive Desktop App.

  • The SpeechLive Desktop App is updated automatically.

  • Some options behave differently on Mac:

    • Always on top is always active on Mac.

    • The automatic upload is currently not available on Mac, however users are still able to manually upload dictations.

Author

The following settings are available for authors:

Microphone: Change the microphone you're using for the application.

Speech recognition language: Change the language recognized by the application.

Voice commands: View a list of all available voice commands. The SpeechLive Desktop App uses the same voice commands as SpeechLive.

Auto-correction at cursor: Change how the app shows you the results of the speech recognition before inserting text.

Always on top: Keep the app always on top, even when you switch to other applications.

Minimize to tray: Activate to keep the SpeechLive Desktop App running in the background when minimized.

This setting is useful to keep the app running and plug in devices for automatic dictation upload. If this option is activated, you can only close the app by right clicking on the desktop-app-icon.png icon in the notification area and choose Exit.

Upload from device/folder: Here you can change different settings regarding the dictation upload functionality of the SpeechLive Desktop App, see Upload dictations to SpeechLive for more information.

Select folder: Choose a folder from which the app automatically uploads new dictations.

Preferred typist or team: Change the preferred typist or team that receives all the dictations you upload with the app (automatic as well as manual uploads).

Automatic upload: Activate this option to automatically upload new dictations from supported devices you connect to your computer as well as from the folder you can set up.

Delete after upload: If this option is active, dictations are deleted from the device / folder after they are uploaded to SpeechLive.

Keyboard shorctuts: Customize the keyboard shortcuts used by the app.

Start/stop speech recognition: Change the key to start/stop the speech recognition function of the app.

Log level: Change the log level of the app, this setting is only relevant in support cases.

Online help: Opens the online help.

Transcriptionist

The following settings are available for transcriptionists / typists:

Always on top: Keep the app always on top, even when you switch to other applications.

Minimize to tray: Activate to keep the SpeechLive Desktop App running in the background when minimized.

This setting is useful to keep the app running and plug in devices for automatic dictation upload. If this option is activated, you can only close the app by right clicking on the desktop-app-icon.png icon in the notification area and choose Exit.

Default author for uploads: Select the author that automatically receives all manually or automatically uploaded dictations.

Upload dictations from device: Here you can change different settings regarding the dictation upload functionality of the SpeechLive Desktop App, see Upload dictations to SpeechLive for more information.

Automatic upload: Activate this option to automatically upload new dictations from supported devices you connect to your computer.

Delete after upload: If this option is active, dictations are deleted from the device after they are uploaded to SpeechLive.
