Recover deleted dictations

If workflow users accidentally delete a dictation, an office manager or account administrator can access it for 30 days and download the audio file. The workflow user can then manually re-upload the dictation if necessary. This requires two steps:

Search and download a deleted dictation

  1. Navigate to the Administration tab, click on More... and choose History.

  2. Scroll down to the Search dictations section.

  3. Enter the file name of the dictation. This usually consists of the name of the author. However, its enough to only enter parts of the first or last name of the author.

  4. Scroll further down to go through the list of all dictations. It's sorted from the oldest to the newest dictation. Click on arrow_down.svg to open more details about a dictation including the date.

  5. Some dictations may consist of multiple versions. In this case its usually the version on top with the latest Date of change which you should download. Click on download.svg to download the dictation.

X The .zip files contains the dictation as well as the metadata (e.g. dictation properties). Unzip the file so you can access the dictation file, which the user can re-upload. See Re-upload a deleted dictation if your workflow user needs the dictation back in SpeechLive.

Re-upload a deleted dictation

After a dictation has been deleted, it is possible to search for it in the SpeechLive account history and manually download the dictation file (see Search and download a deleted dictation). After this step, it is possible to manually upload the dictation again. However, the dictation should be uploaded either by the author who deleted it, or the typist (which than needs to assign the dictation back to the correct author).

[Note]Note

Its not possible to reupload or recover the metadata (e.g. dictation properties) of an dictation.

  1. Navigate to the Dictations tab and click on the arrow in the corner of the new_dictation_icon_button.pngNew dictation button.

You can use the arrow in the corner of the button to switch between new_dictation_icon_button.pngNew dictation, new_speech_recognition_icon_button.pngSpeech recognition or upload-dictation_button.pngUpload.
