Improved SpeechLive AI features

Users are now able to request multiple AI documents. For example, after they received a smart transcript, they can additionally request summary & insights or any other AI document of the same dictation. With any AI generated document, users will always receive the original transcript.

Desktop App 3.8.0 (Windows, Mac)

Autostart feature

The Desktop App now includes a built-in auto-start feature. This means the app will automatically launch when the user starts their computer, no need to remember to launch it manually. Users can easily turn this option on or off from the app’s settings. This small improvement helps make daily work smoother, especially for those using the auto-upload feature, by ensuring everything is ready to go as soon as their work day begins.

We recommend to remove any prior auto-start entries before using the built in auto-start feature of the app.

Streaming player

With our latest quarterly release we also improved how the SpeechLive web player handles dictations. Dictations will open faster, and playback will start more quickly, particularly with longer recordings. This saves the user time when checking or starting a job, helping them to stay focused and efficient throughout the day.

Editor

We added a built-in editor to SpeechLive, so users can transcribe and edit transcripts directly within the browser. This simplifies the workflow - there’s no need to use separate word processors or upload documents afterwards. This new workflow is especially useful for reviewing and fine-tuning speech recognition results more efficiently.

Smart refine

Following the successful launch of smart transcript, the next step in enhancing the transcription workflow is now available: smart refine. This feature enables users to adjust the tone of their transcripts with a single click, selecting either business or legal. Whether a more polished professional tone is needed or a format tailored for legal work, smart refine adapts the transcript while preserving the original meaning of the dictation. It is designed to support the creation of clearer, more consistent documents with reduced manual editing, saving time and improving overall output quality.

Sidebar for authors

After adding the sidebar for typists, we have now added the same feature for authors. This provides authors with a quick overview of all their pending dictations and which typist or team they are assigned to. This also gives the author a better idea of how many of their dictations are still being processed and the total length of their pending dictations.

Total workload view

This new option allows authors to see the total workload of a team in the sidebar. This means that the author can also see the duration and number of dictations assigned to a team by other authors. With this information, authors can better assess the total workload of a team and how long it will take to process their own dictations.

Mobile App 2.0.3 (iOS) / 2.0.5 (Android)

Additional fast forward / rewind buttons and winding speed

The mobile app already offered a fast forward/rewind as well as the jump to the beginning/end function. To further improve the user experience, we split these functions into separate buttons. This not only prevents accidental use of the wrong function, but also saves the user time by allowing them to access the desired function with a quick tap of a dedicated button. The new winding speed option allows the user to customize the fast forward/rewind buttons and how many seconds they jump forward/back in the dictation.

Multi-speaker support for speech recognition

Already available for the Web App, we added the option to select the number of speakers when sending a dictation to SpeechLive speech recognition. This allows mobile users to select the number of speakers of their dictation on their mobile phone and receive a transcript with timestamps of the different speakers.

When using real-time speech recognition, users can now add their own personal vocabulary. This feature ensures that any special vocabulary or names are correctly interpreted when using speech recognition.

Mandatory fields improvements and warning messages

We have also made a number of small improvements to the user experience to help users in their day-to-day work. These include visual indicators when some of the dictation properties are mandatory fields. We have also added the option to make the due date a mandatory field. Another improvement is a warning message to the user when activating an overwrite recording mode to prevent accidental deletion of previously recorded dictations.
