Use the editor

You can transcribe dictations right within SpeechLive using the built-in editor. This also enables you to quickly check and correct speech recognition or AI enhanced transcripts.

  1. Navigate to the Dictations tab and choose a dictation in the list. The dictation opens on the right side of the screen.

  2. Click on the Editoropen_editor_icon.svg button.

  3. The editor opens on the left and you can start transcribing.

    • You can change the formatting of the transcript at the top of the editor, e.g. choose a different font, add lists, links or change the alignment of the text.

    • Click on the full screen button fullscreen_icon.svg in the upper right to further enlarge the editor window. This will also automatically open the pop-out player, which you can freely move around (see Use the pop-out player). When using it for the first time, you may need to move the pop-out player window to see all the buttons of the editor.

    • With the copy function copy_icon.svg at the bottom you can quickly copy all the text within the transcript to paste it in other applications.

    • The print function print_icon.svg allows you to quickly print the transcript.

    • Use the Export function if you need to export the transcript to a different format and download it.

  4. After you have finished transcribing, click on Save and close to close the editor.

When using the editor in full-screen mode, you can save and finish the dictation directly by clicking the Save & Finish button. To only save the transcript, first exit full-screen mode by clicking on fullscreen_icon.svg in the upper right and next click Save and close.

  5. After you’re finished transcribing this dictation, click on the Finish button.
