Voice commands

Voice commands allow you to navigate, edit, and format text hands-free by speaking commands directly at the cursor in any application or text editor on your computer — such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, web browsers, or legal case management systems. Instead of switching back and forth between speech, keyboard, and mouse, you can speak commands seamlessly to position the cursor, select words or sentences, correct mistakes, and apply formatting wherever your cursor is active.

Note

Voice commands are supported exclusively in the SpeechLive Desktop App for direct-to-cursor dictation into your applications and text editors. They are not available in the SpeechLive web or mobile applications.

Access the Voice Commands Guide

You can access the in-app Voice Commands guide at any time to review all available commands for your active language.

  1. In the SpeechLive Desktop App, click the Main menu icon in the top left corner.

  2. Click Voice commands to expand the section.

  3. Click View voice commands to open the in-app guidance window.

Tip

While dictating, simply speak "What can I say?" or "Show commands" to instantly open the Voice Commands guide window.
