Create, edit and use a custom template
Create a custom template
Custom templates let you create clinical documentation templates tailored to your workflow. You can choose the sections you need, customize the greeting and signature, and reuse your template whenever you generate documentation.
Open the template builder
Open Templates in the sidebar.
Expand Custom templates.
Click Create template. If you already have custom templates, click the + icon next to Custom templates instead.
The template builder opens with an empty template and the section list.
Name your template
Click the template title to edit its name. New templates are named New template by default.
Choose a name that makes it easy to identify the template and its intended use.
Add sections
The section list contains the sections available to you. To build your template:
Browse or search the section list.
Drag and drop the sections you want into the template.
Add sections in the order you want them to appear in your documentation.
Each section can only be added once to the same template. Once added, it becomes unavailable for adding again to that template.
You can also create your own sections to suit your documentation needs. Learn more in Sections.
Customize your template
You can personalize the following elements:
Sections: Configure supported section prompts to guide the AI on what information to include in the generated documentation.
Greeting: Customize the text displayed at the beginning of the template.
Signature: Customize the text displayed at the end of the template.
The greeting appears at the top of the template, and the signature appears at the bottom.
Create your template
Once you have added at least one section, click Create. Your new template will appear under Custom templates in the sidebar and can be reused when generating clinical documentation.
Tip
You can create different templates for different clinical workflows, using the sections and prompts most relevant to each one.
Edit a custom template
Open the template, make your changes, and click Update to save them.
Use a custom template
Select your custom template in the documentation workflow, either before or after dictation, using the existing template-selection flow. The template's configured sections and prompts guide the generated documentation.
Important
If you leave the template builder with unsaved changes, you will be asked whether you want to keep editing or discard your changes.
