Microphone distance
Keep your microphone a few centimeters/inches away from your mouth. Do not let the microphone touch your lips. The microphone should not be placed beneath your chin or near your forehead.
Pace and volume
Speak naturally at a normal pace, without pausing between words. Use longer phrases rather than short phrases or individual words. Dictate with a consistent speed and volume. Pause briefly before and after you dictate punctuations.
Voice commands
Use the voice commands provided in the application(s) to add punctation and special characters.
Pronunciation
Pronounce words normally, do not over-enunciate. Try to refrain from speaking in a dialect and using colloquial or slang words.
Eliminate undesired noises
Ideally you should record in a quite room without background noises or other people talking. Refrain from habits such as eating, drinking and chewing gum whilst recording.
